The activities of Roz establishment during April and May – 2008

Medical achievements:

 Roz establishment has four medical centers, with one natural therapy centre. During April and May they achieved the following :

* Raheemawa centre: (60-70) illness cases were being dealt with each day. Which means (4000) cases during those two months. With providing the proper medical cure.

* Azadi centre : (100-120) illness cases were being dealt with each day. Which means (6000-6500) cases during those two months.

* Qaddissiya centre: (80-100) illness cases were being dealt with each day. Which means (5500-5750) cases during those two months.

* Roz natural therapy : (30-40) illness cases were being dealt with each day. Which means (1100-1250) cases during those two months.

 So all the medical centers during April and May took care of (21750) illness cases.

Ultrasound :

One day is specialized each week for (ultrasound) in each medical center.

Examining (25) cases each week. Which means (100) cases a month in every center.

 

Dentistry:

Which is in Azadi center. Taking care of (20-25) cases each day. Which means (1000) cases a month.

 

The file of the medical committee:

Roz medical committee registered (60) illness cases during April and May – 2007.

(41)cases were shown to the specialist doctors in the committee. The cases were : cardiac diseases, thalasemia, brain diseases, blood cancer and arthritis. In addition of face and jaw damages, burns, respiratory system diseases, and eye diseases.

After diagnosing those cases those sick persons were prepared to be sent abroad to get the proper cure.

 

Roz typical private kindergarten:

 Roz kindergarten was invited by Kirkuk social, educational center in April- 8- 2007. Dr. Abdulkareem Khaleefa and mrs. Nawal Abdulnabi met the kids there. The kids had a look at the center and its halls and recognized their activities. The center held a drawing race for the kids, and selected the best three drawings, and gave the three winners valuable presents, and gave the others symbolic ones.

The kindergarten kids presented some songs and poems in Kurdish, Arabic, and English.

Roz kindergarten held a test for the kids for they studies during 2006-2007 season. The same test was hold the last season. The test proved the success of the suggested studying texts and the acquisition of the kids for them.

One labor day the kindergarten kids take part in a party for the mentioned occasion in May-1-2007. the kids presented different activities and songs in Kurdish, Arabic, and English.

 

Media and affairs department:

• In April-23-2007, Roz establishment participated in a conference about law is our choice (Iraqi women hold on to the unity of Iraq and keep the harmony of family and society). The conference supervised by the leading woman institute.
• The article (41) from the Iraqi constitution for (2005) (the marital status law) was also discussed in the conference.
• In May-1-2007, Roz establishment cooperating with  free woman centre, the Kurdistan democratic solution  party and the Kurdistan communist party. Held a party on labor day.
• _In may-6-2007, Roz establishment cooperating with women organizations and unions, hold a peaceful march rejecting the bad killing of the ezdi girl (Duaa).
• The march aimed to stop violence against women in our society.
• _In may-9-2007,Roz establishment cooperating with Alhuda union for Iraqi women, held a symposium about the notion of the national reconciliation, and the responsibility of  every person in keeping safety and peace in kirkuk,to live a flourished life.
• _in may-14-2007,Roz establishment cooperating with (Sabbat) organization, arranged an educational course about (the role of women in solving disputes and spreading peace).
• _ In May-21-2007, Roz establishment participated in the anniversary carnival. Which has been hold by fine arts institute in Kirkuk.
• The carnival included painting fair, singing, dancing, music presented by teachers and students. Roz establishment revealed its appreciation to the given efforts to make the success of the carnival.
• _ Strengthening the relations between civil society organizations and military in order to establish a progressing society. Roz establishment visited (the headquarter of Kurdistan forces- the first brigade- the command of Kirkuk the heart of Kurdistan). Roz staffs had a look at all the brigade and how it works. This brigade included female members who have volunteered to defend Kurdistan and serve Kirkuk city.
• The brigade commander asked Roz establishment to open educational courses, and computer lessons, and teaching the female members the legal concepts. Roz establishment with all its pleasure promised to put a text for the mentioned task.

 

Roz establishment's activities during June- July- 2007:

Media and affairs department:

_Roz establishment received Mr. Dindar Zebari(the coordinator of Kurdistan province in the united nations. The purpose of the visit was to askabout the nature of the establishment's work, and its role in the city, and to find direct ways to communicate with the UN's offices.

The visiting deputation concentrated on the role of civil society organization in establishing safety and peace and the well being of the society.

_ Roz establishment participated in the training course. Which was held by economical development and investment, about managing work, and small projects.

_ In June-19-2007, Roz establishment cooperating with Kurdistan youth union, holding special courses for women and youth in (Panja Ali) in (Zanist) school. Most of the (90) students in the courses were from the returned displaced. The courses lasted for one month, included: computer skills, illiteracy removing, English, the art of sewing.

_In July-4-2007, Roz establishment participated in a work shop about the article (46) from the Iraqi institution for 2005. Which deals with rights and general freedom for the citizen and society. The work shop was arranged by the alliance of freedoms. Supervised by public aid organization(pao). Supported by (unops).

_Roz establishment was given an appreciation certificate by (the Iraqi educational assembly) cooperating with (the assembly of youth brotherhood).

(Komari Roz) also was given appreciation certificate by (the Iraqi journalists union\ Kirkuk) cooperating with (the Iraqi educational house) in July-11-2007 on the Iraqi press day.

_In July-12-2007, Roz establishment participated at the open symposium, held by the affairs department in Kirkuk council, for civil society organizations. The symposium had the title (The way of developing and arranging the performance of civil society organizations). The representative of (assisting the non-governmental organizations) office, was invited too.

_In July-19-2007, Roz establishment presented certificates and gifts to the graduated people from the courses held by the establishment in (Zanist) school.

 

Roz advocacy office:

Roz advocacy office won a marital status case for one of its clients in June-28-2007. The client received all her rights.

_The office received many cases in May-2007. Most of them were marital status cases, alimony cases, and cases of separation and properties.

_The office held many radio interviews about marriage and divorce cases and everything related to these issues.

 

Roz kindergarten :

The fourth course of kids were graduated in July-5-2007. The kids presented various activities in their graduation ceremony expressed the brotherhood and the collective agreement among all the ethnicities and sects of Kirkuk. Some satellite and local TV channels covered this event.

 

The medical committee:

_In July-20-2007, (18) patients were sent to (Helena centre) in Arbil in order to be shown to the medical committee in the centre. (11) patients of them had already done medical operations. They went to Helena centre to get checked.

_In July-21-2007,(7) patients were sent to Italy to get the proper cure for their heart problems from (Ain kawa) airport.

 

Media and affairs department:

_In Aug-29-2007, Roz establishment participated in the national reconciliation at (Alsalm) hall in Alsulaimaniya. Supervised by (Social education and development union) and (Initiating the civil society) organizations.

_In Sep-1-2007, the establishment participated in a symposium held by (free woman centre) in cooperating with (Dijla centre for arts). On the international peace day, at Dijla hall in Kirkuk. Representatives from the active organizations in the city attended the symposium which helped to activate the subject of the symposium positively.

_In Sep-11-2007, a delegation from our establishment visited the office of Dr. Dindar Zebari the coordinator of Kurdistan government at the UN. The purpose of the visit was to find the proper coordination with UN offices.

_In Sep-12-2007, a delegation from the establishment visited several UN offices in order to find ways of communication with UN's offices.

 

Roz advocacy office:

_In Aug-22-2007, the advocacy office had a case about separation between a couple. The office did that properly.

_Another case was done by the office about transforming property.

_The office won a custody case for a woman. The woman kept her children.
 

Roz activities during October and November (2007):

Media and affairs department:

The establishment received a delegation from (cham- chamall district) women union, in Nov-3-2007. Developing the woman's situation in the district was the main subjects in the meeting, rising the woman to a high, flourished level in the society. The establishment donated many devices, and equipment, and furniture and other donation to help their union to work properly.

_(United Iraq) was the title of an operetta presented by the students of teachers qualifying institute. This operetta assured the unity among all the Iraqi ethnicities and sects. Our establishment arrived at this operetta which was presented in coordination with the educational house in Kirkuk in Nov-13-2007.

_In a nice party in Oct-15-2007, our magazine (Komari Roz) turned the first page of its lifetime, and interred its second year confidently.

_In Oct-18-2007, our establishment with other unions, parties, and civil society organizations, participated in putting out the fourty candle of Kirkuk TV. Which eas established in 1967. A documentary film was shown in the party about the stages Kirkuk TV went through, since its establishment till 2007.

_Our establishment arrived at the inauguration of the national-Kurdistan relations- Kirkuk branch in Oct-19-2007. The aim of the office is to strengthen the humanitarian relations among the ethnicities in Kirkuk.

_Oue establishment participated in a symposium at Kurdistan women union hall- Kirkuk branch, conducted by Miss Sulaf Abdullah. On the day of stopping violence against women, in Nov-25-2007.

 

Roz advocacy office:

_A Swedish woman from Iraqi origin arrived at our office intending to get her stolen identification cards by her father. Those identification cards prove her being Iraqi. Our office started working in this case to get her new Iraqi identification cards.

_In Oct-15-2007, a woman came to our office intending to separate from her husband. One of our lawyers did the proper to get her demand done.

_Our office received another separation case against her husband because of his abandon for her. This case is being checked at the court meanwhile.

_Our office got a decision from the court about an absently divorce for one of its clients.

_In Oct-23-2007, Mrs. (Z. G) came to our office in order to get divorce from her husband. This case is being checked at the court meanwhile.

_Another success was achieved by our office for a woman, and she got her rights.

_In Oct-24-2007, Mrs. (T.A) came to our office asking to get her property from her husband. This case is being checked at the court.

 

Roz activities during December 2007, January 2008:

Life continues its gifts, sometimes men confesses those gifts, sometimes deny, but life continues its gifts though. So is Roz establishment in its humanitarian activities. It keeps presenting its different services to all Kirkuk citizens.

Media and affairs department:

_In Dec-3-2007, our establishment arrived at the artistic carnival held by (Handicaps union) in Kirkuk, on the handicaps day. The carnival included a play by the handicaps represented the handicaps wishes in achieving peace and luxury in Iraq. Our establishment got an appreciation certificate from the mentioned union for our establishment's continuous support for them.

_In Dec-7-2007, our establishment attended the lecture which was given by Dr. Janet Benshof, from one of the American universities, who also was a judge in the united states. Dr. Benshof concentrated on establishing female civil society organizations. Also she asked the juristic characters to activate (Sedar) treaty, which relates to stop all kinds of discrimination against woman, and finding the right ways to achieve the treaty in government departments and justice houses.

_Within the continuous efforts in distributing the financial grant to women who have the membership of our establishment. Our establishment headed for (cham-chamal) district to distribute the grants to their women and women from near villages to it. _On the occasion of Christmas and the greater Bairam. Our establishment headed for (Tolan) and (Kalay dam dam) to distribute financial presents to the students and the teaching staffs, in Dec-17-2007.

_In cooperating with Kurdistan youth union. The establishment participated in holding an artistic carnival for the Kurdish dancing groups in Kirkuk. Which consisted of nine groups (Shapool, Nawrooz, Baba gur gur, Alashoriya, Neshtiman, Dilly Kurdistan, Razazi, Kizink, and Hamon). A competition was held among the groups. Three groups got the first three positions. The establishment presented all the groups encouraging presents. This carnival was in Jan-6-2008.

_In Jan-23-2008, the establishment attended the media lecture in Kirkuk TV building. The lecture that arranged by (Ayindi Karkurd) organization, dealt with unifying media in order to rise media education in Kirkuk.

_In Jan-24-2008, the establishment participated in the inauguration of two (night schools). Which five schools were opened in Kirkuk recently for those who missed the chance of study because of their ages. With opening these schools those people's dreams became true in continuing their study. Our establishment donated one computer to one of the schools, and presented financial grants to the others.

_To rise up the quality of our services to Kirkuk citizens. Our establishment coordinating with (Kirkuk rebuilding team), held an extensive campaign to examine students eyesight at the primary schools for both sexes, according to modern scientific ways. The establishment made medical glasses match the eye problems the students suffer from. This campaign also concluded distributing wheel chairs for the handicaps in the city and following districts.

 

Advocacy office:

_The office succeeded in a separating case for a woman from her husband who abandoned her with her children since two years without alimony or any assistance.

_The office succeeded in getting alimony for a woman (Z.G.K), after she got divorced from her husband. This case was finished in Dec-9-2007.

_The office succeeded in getting compensation for a woman (H.S.S), for the insulting way of divorce by the husband.

The compensation was one million dinnars which is equal to two years alimony. This case was in Dec-2-2007.

_In Dec-3-2007, Mrs. (A.B) arrived to our office to demand separation from her husband who abandoned her with her children. The office directed Mrs. (B) to authorize one of the offices lawyers to do the presentation.

_In Jan-23-2008, Mrs. (R.M.A) came to our office after she was informed by the court that her husband presented a divorce case against her. One of our lawyers had the authorization from her to do the presentation to get her rights and avoid the absentia judgment.
